If you're a raving fan of all things Celtic, then the annual Australian Celtic Festival held in Glen Innes is the perfect way to spend your weekend!

Starting 4 May, you can experience an action-packed four days of live music, traditional dancing, delicious food and exhilarating Highland Games.

Celebrating the rich culture and traditions of the Celtic nations, the Australian Celtic Festival has been held annually in Glen Innes since 1992, drawing a crowd from all over Australia.

Jig the weekend away to the sound of bagpipes and fiddles while learning the ways of the Highland Dancer – with story-telling, workshops, food and craft stalls and multiple stages playing both traditional and contemporary Celtic music, you’re sure to find something you like. You can even check your little ones into Knight School!

Looking for something a little more on the quirky side? Why not sign up to the kilted yoga day retreat at Waterloo Station or try your luck in an arm wrestling competition? If you’re just in it for the Guinness, don’t worry, there’s plenty for you to do too. Pull up a stump or go for a wonder – you’ll find the place alive with street and fashion parades, jousting competitions and celtic highland dance performances.

Last but not least – the food! Featuring a wide range of traditional Celtic fare, from haggis to Irish soda bread, you can enter the world of the Irish, Scottish and Welsh without stepping foot off the continent. The whole of Glen Innes will be alive with celtic music and dinner options to boot.

So, whether you're a die-hard Celtic music fan or you’re simply looking for a fun way to spend the weekend, you don’t want to miss the Australian Celtic Festival – dig out your kilt and join the lively atmosphere, because this is sure to be a weekend to remember.

Tickets can be purchased for the whole weekend or you can buy a day pass – more information available here.
